After the introduction of this revolutionary design pattern, a new pattern comprised of a CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent light) and fiber optic cable were formulated in the year 2004 for the E36 3 BMW series. The main distinction was that this design came with the halo rings, unlike its earlier counterparts.
The year of 2003 kick started with the development of BMW angel eyes for the BMW 7 series. Since then the company has started incorporating halo ring in all its models coming out of the factory including all the major ones like E90, E91, E93 3, E70, E60 5 series, etc.
These fiber optic setups were initially powered by the filament bulbs, which later were substituted with the H8 halogen bulbs. With the introduction of the latest LED lights, the newer BMW models are witnessing the replacement of the highly efficient LED lights in place of the H8 halogen/filament bulbs.
This replacement has imparted a HID matching Xenon white luminescence and rendered the BMW Halo much brighter.
The incorporation of the rings not only improves the overall appearance of the car, but also improves a lot on the safety of the vehicle. Moreover, they serve as the most cost effective medium of customizing the car and making it appear stunning and unique to the eye.
Also referred as halo head lights or demon eyes, BMW angel eyes is considered as one of the most remarkable technological innovations in the field of automotive lighting industry.
